This module is designed to work with the snippets of text lifted from web pages. These snippets are returned by the search engines, together with site links, in response to a search query.

Project settings

Search engines – a list of search engines to be checked is specified here.

Keywords list – a list of keywords and phrases to be checked is specified here.

URL list – a list of sites for checking is specified here.

Search depth – specifies the search depth, expressed as positions.

Keys Add, Delete, Move up, Move down allow you to manipulate the keyword and URL lists.

Fill from *.txt – allows you to populate lists of words and sites from a text file.

Start search – allows you to begin collection of information.

Snippets viewer

Snippets are displayed as html text – just as they are returned by the search engine. The viewer displays the date, the name of a search engine and the search engine position in which a snippet was displayed. This is followed by the text returned by the search engine.

Search engines, Keywords list, URL list – this is where you specify the parameters for displaying snippets. That is, snippets for the defined phrase and site and the selected search engine.

Full screen html – the results are displayed, by default, as an html page in a window within the program. This key allows you to open the page in an Internet browser.

Buttons Start and Stop allow you to start and stop the snippet collection process.
